One of the highlights on the Little Athletics event calendar is the 2020 Coles Australian Little Athletics Championships which will be held on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April 2020 at the Australian Institute of Sport Athletics Track, Canberra.
Bringing together some of the best athletes from across Australia the championships features two competitions, the Australian Teams Championships (ATC) for the Under 13 athletes and the Multi-Event Championship (MEC) for the Under 15 athletes.
We invite everyone to come along and cheer on the athletes and your state, if you cant make it the event will be live streamed.
Interested in competing?
Each team comprises of up to twenty six (26) Under 13 athletes and six (6) Under 15 athletes. This is a unique experience to compete as part of a team for your state!
All athletes are selected by their State Association. The State Associations nominate the events that an athlete will contest with a view to obtaining the best results for the team. Each Association can enter a maximum of two competitors in each individual event and one relay team in each relay. No athlete may compete in more than four events, which includes a relay.

What events are contested?
Under 13 Boys & Girls: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 80m hurdles, 200m hurdles, 1500m walk, 4 x 100m team relay, long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, discus and javelin.
Under 15 Boys: 100m Hurdles, Discus, Long Jump, 100m, High Jump, Javelin, 800m
Under 15 Girls: 90m Hurdles, Shot Put, High Jump, 200m, Javelin, Long Jump, 800m
2 boys and 2 girls will also compete in the Mixed Relay.

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
