In this photo we see Samuel from LAQ braking his personal best, also while pushing himself, he encouraged all his peers to do their best as they were having hard time doing the scissors jumping, at the end of the day they all did their PB.

Alex Campbell
West Lakes Athletics Centre |
Alex Campbell from Westlakes Athletics is an absolute star. Not because he is a great athlete but because he helps out in every possible way. He helps set up every week, and even helped mow the oval without being asked. He always encourages the other kids and is super keen to help anyone!

Lillian Page
Kurrajong Bilpin Athletics Centre |
Even with Covid she has shown her determination and commitment and willingness to do better this year with 24 personal bests so far this season. Even on her birthday 16/11/19. She chose to compete at the state relays. We did sneak a cake in for her and her friends. She just loves running and spending time with her friends.

Cameron Maizey
Upper Lockyer Little Athletics Centre |
CAMERON MAIZEY (Upper Lockyer): Cameron is always on hand and eager to encourage and teach the younger athletes skills he has learned over the years. His leadership skills are admirable for a young man of his age (13yrs). We are extremely lucky to have Cameron in our club.

Allegra Carnell
The Gap Little Athletics Centre |
ALLEGRA CARNELL (The Gap): Allegra broke her femur just before the 2020 State Relay Championships and needed an extended stay in hospital and multiple surgeries. She hasn’t lost her smile though and turned up to cheer on her teammates and do some throws from her wheelchair showing amazing resilience and sportsmanship.

Trey Carson
Helensvale Little Athletics Centre |
TREY CARSON (Helensvale): Trey has just started at Helensvale this season and has come leaps and bounds in competing, encouraging others and participating in events he never has before. He was classified this season as an AWD but still sometimes attempts to give able bodied a go, especially at relays so that his team mates can have a go also. So very proud of this young man.

Mikayla Zirbel
Highfields & District Little Athletics Centre |
MIKAYLA ZIRBEL (Highfields & District): It doesn’t matter where she finishes in the events, Mikayla never stops smiling. She shows great sportsmanship and always cheers, claps and encourages everyone. She certainly has the heart and soul of a champion, quietly achieving her goals and having fun while she does it.

Jack Power
Salisbury Little Athletics Centre |
Jack has been involved with Little Athletics for 7 years, but is a newer member to the Salisbury Club this season and is enjoying every minute! In the month of January, Jack has achieved an impressive 11 PB’s as well as a centre record in the Under 10 High Jump earlier this season.
Jack is an athlete who is continuously demonstrating his commitment and determination to his athletics performance, and strives for outstanding athletics results at all times during club meets. Jack has also inspired and challenged other athletes in his age group to be their best and achieve PB’s by setting these high standards for himself, and Jack is recognised as a team player athlete, in an individual focused sport.

Mitchell Dansie
Northern Districts Little Athletics Centre |
(NDLAC). Mitchell, now an U16 athlete, has been a member of NDLAC for over 13 years now, and will receive his 300 meets badge at the end of this season, Mitchell being only the fourth person in the club’s history to achieve this.
Mitch is extremely committed to the sport of Little Athletics, very rarely missing a club meet. Each week Mitch, alongside his Dad, set up and pack up for club meets without being asked. Mitch has been a previous Club Captain and Vice Captain, both roles he enjoyed, which saw him running warm-up’s, attending away meets, supporting younger athletes, among other duties displaying his strong sense of leadership.
Mitch is in the process of achieving his Level 1 in officiating at throws for Little Athletics SA, and is always happy to help out when he is not competing, at association events such as the Holiday Clinics and Multi-Event Championships. Mitch, along with all the boys in his age group at the club, have been tremendous role models this season for the younger athletes, encouraging, cheering and assisting the athletes with their personal development.
As well as assisting others, Mitch is committed to his own personal development, and is dedicated to Shotput and Hammer, winning bronze on a couple of occasions in Shotput at the State Individual Championships. Mitch is an athlete who doesn’t just ‘attend’ Little Athletics Meets, he goes above and beyond every week, and is an athlete whose personal attributes the club hopes younger athletes will aspire to.

Peter Wilson
Munno Para Little Athletics Centre |
Peter is the club’s Health & Safety Officer and also takes on the role as Club Photographer. You will always see Peter at the club each Sunday assisting with meet set-up and pack-up, but it is often the unseen work Peter does with the club, which the club and athletes benefit from most.
Peter is extremely dedicated to the club. Having been deployed this year for 7 months with the Australian Defence in the Middle East Region, during this time Peter has worked on a number of projects for the club and attended all committee meetings via Zoom. Peter has since returned and he has completed the following projects;
Improved safety both on track and field
Implemented a 5S equipment procedure
Established a safety program which has been aligned with the Local Council
Whilst all of these are not always visible, they are key to the overall safety and performance of the club’s athletes and club community.
Peter installs and demonstrates what club pride is. He is always willing to assist and take part in anything that will improve MPLAC and it’s athletes. Peter is a linchpin to the club and his personal commitment to both the club and athletes is clearly demonstrated by his involvement. Peter is continually coming with new ideas, and communicates with everyone involved and volunteers many hours to make things happen!
