Devonport Little Athletics receives Coles funding boost
The Devonport Little Athletics Centre has welcomed a much-needed recent funding boost the club has received, funds which are set to be put to good use.
The centre has received a grant of $2100 thanks to Coles, with president Randal Parker saying the grant will help buy a hurdles trolley to get its athletes and volunteers back on track after what has been a tough year thanks to COVID-19.
“The grant will have a huge time-saving impact for our centre volunteers, whose contribution and hard work is so important in providing a great sporting experience for our little athletes,” he said this week.
The Little Athletics centre at Girdlestone Park is one of 158 grassroots sports club across Australia that have shared in $521,000 for sports equipment from the latest round of the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund.
It is the single largest round of grants distributed to Little Athletics centres since the Coles fund was established two years ago.
