Lyndoch and Districts Little Athletics Club receive $1300 Coles grant

Youngsters involved in Lyndoch and Districts Little Athletics are thrilled with the announcement of a grant this week of more than $1300 to help with the purchase of new sports equipment.

The funds are courtesy of retail giant Coles.

The Barossa based athletics club is just one of about 100 centres across Australia to receive a sports grant to replace or expand its sports equipment.

Funds were raised through the sale of specially-marked chiller bags designed by Aussie kids.

For every bag sold, 25 cents was directed to the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund to provide sport equipment grants.

The assistance helps with the purchase of sporting equipment for high jump, discus, hurdles and for running events.

“The Lyndoch and Districts Little Athletics Centre told us they would like to receive a grant to buy a starting system and we were delighted to help because we know this is an essential part of Little Athletics to support young budding athletes,” Coles state manager Sophie Wong explained.
